The Fisherman, like many works by National Artist Ang Kiukok, showcases his mastery of figurative expressionism.
In the 1960s, Kiukok was commissioned by Ayala’s Davao Insular Hotel to create a mural for the property. After Ayala’s divestment of the business, The Fisherman was displayed at the lobby of Tower One where Ayala had its headquarters from 1996 to 2023. It now hangs prominently at the company’s new headquarters at Ayala Triangle Gardens Tower 2.
