Nine-Dash Line is named after China’s controversial imaginary maritime line. Jigsaw pieces of this sea were captured over a ten-year period from various coastal locations and sutured together into a dreamtime seascape. The coven of islands covered in cloth were sculptures made on the artist’s bed in a time of illness and recovery, with monsoon storm clouds brewing on the horizon.
