Part of the series Heavenly Bodies, the “comet” was formed with the use of found objects and artifacts and contains seven miniature paintings. This body of work represents transformation, renewal, hope, and return.
As with other works of Halili, it comes decorated with his signature mother-of-pearl carved and painted memento moris, which reminds the viewer on the fragility of life, formed into an object of either creation or destruction, but ultimately of new beginnings.
